One of most respected coffee from Mexico, campesinos ecológicos de la sierra madre de chiapas. this coffee is produced by campesinos ecológicos de la sierra madre de chiapas (cesmach), a fair-trade & organic certified coop located at the buffer zone of el triunfo biosphere reserve. up on the highlands of the sierra madre de chiapas - a mountainous chain of steeps & pinnacles surpassing the 2,000 meters, surrounded by wide & numerous valleys that reach 1,000 meters above sea level, covered on the top by a soft mist which vanishes w/ torrential rains, is el triunfo biosphere reserve. this reserve contains mesoamerica’s largest continuous cloud forest, & it serves as a refuge to thousands of plant & animal species. el triunfo is a rare & valuable sanctuary that requires continued protection, & cesmach ensures this protection through various sustainable practices. all the coffee they produce is shade grown, & biological corridors are created in order to facilitate bird & animal migration. in addition, cafe imports pays a 20 cent per lb premium that is to be used for the continued maintenance of el triunfo biosphere reserve.
