Smooth, mellow, and comforting flavor with a toasty, crushed-apple aroma. of all the black teas that china produces, keemun is perhaps the most well-known. the name keemun is a corruption of its name of origin, namely the qimen county in southwestern anhui province. although keemun is a world-renowned tea, it has a relatively short history. in 1875, a young entrepreneur began producing black tea in qimen, where before only average quality green tea had been produced. since that time keemun has gained a reputation for a unique yet indescribable flavor, with hints of smoky pine, orchid, cooked apple, and a rich, sweet taste. each 4 oz tin of loose leaf tea makes about 40 cups.
