"...a former chef for the valley's ra sushi restaurants, he pairs unusual ingredients like the cilantro, jalapeno and tuna that's laid across the top of a shrimp tempura, spicy tuna and cucumber bundle (fire dragon roll, $14)...i also liked the in-and-out roll ($14), wrapping shrimp tempura, spicy crab and cucumber in sliced cooked shrimp and avocado - it got an unexpected punch from an emerald swirl of asian pesto that's made with chiso (oriental mint)...i was happy with the shrimp tempura, spicy crab and cucumber inside, and the baked ahi on top...accompanying shrimp tempura was a bit mealy, but the batter was so feathery light that this misstep wasn't hard to forgive..."
